Filipino-Led Sabong Saga NFT Sales Top $870K on Ronin Network

Filipino-developed blockchain game Sabong Saga surpassed $870,000 in total secondary market sales, according to the latest data on the Ronin Network NFT marketplace. Data is updated at the time this article is written.

870K Sales

On-chain data from analytics platform Dune shows that the project has exceeded $870,149 in total trading volume on the Ronin blockchain, representing combined sales from various NFT collections associated with the game.

As of August 4, 2025, the Sabong Saga ecosystem continues its evolution with strong engagement across both Genesis and Legacy Chicken collections. The Genesis Chickens, capped at 2,222 divine entities, have reached full minting, distributed among 597 unique holders, with trading volume showing consistent activity from January through March 2025.

Meanwhile, the Legacy and Normal Chickens cohort now totals 10,956 warriors, held by 969 distinct wallets.

Moreover, the data also shows that the total amount of chicken NFT holders across all categories surged past past 1,000 in January but saw a notable dip, settling between 500 to 600 active wallets by February. Genesis Chicken holders peaked near 800 before gradually declining to around 600, while Legacy and Normal Chicken holders mirrored this trajectory, dropping sharply post-March and stabilizing within the same range.

Recently, Sabong Saga emerged as the top-performing paid gaming NFT in August 2025, with its floor price soaring from 20 to 154.5 RON, a 672.5% increase, according to crypto gaming research Memento.

What is Sabong Saga

Sabong Saga is a Filipino-developed blockchain game that reimagines traditional cockfighting as a cruelty-free, strategic digital experience. Built on the Ronin Network, the game allows players to collect, breed, battle, and trade digital chickens, each represented as NFTs.

Inspired by the cultural significance of sabong in the Philippines, the project aims to transform a historically violent pastime into a humane, web3-native game. Players engage in on-chain gameplay through breeding systems, PvP battles, crafting mechanics, and a metagame loop designed for long-term sustainability.

According to its developers, Sabong Saga began as a simple idea in November 2024, gradually evolving from casual conversations into concrete plans.

In January 2025 the game raised 1.75 million RON during the presale of its Genesis Chickens NFT collection. A total of 87,000 tickets were purchased, with 663 participants securing a spot in the sale.

The public mint followed shortly after, with the entire collection selling out in just one second.

Since launch, the Genesis Chicken NFTs have seen a dramatic rise in value. Initially sold for 20 RON, the floor price has climbed as high as 900 RON, representing a 45x increase. The highest recorded sale reached nearly 9,896 RON for a rare 3x Legendary Genesis Chicken, a 494x jump from the mint price.

In March, the public mint of Legacy Collection had all 8,888 NFTs claimed within just one hour of launch. Each NFT required 120 Feathers, 16,969 $COCK tokens, and 6.9420 RON to mint.

Sabong Saga has a native token, $COCK, used for in-game transactions and rewards, and supports a creator economy through its Creator Program, giving builders a share of the ecosystem’s growth.

Daily Rub

One day after the public mint, Sabong Saga launched Daily Rub, a utility feature that allowed Genesis NFT holders to engage with their assets and begin earning in-game value.

Ninuno System

The Ninuno System in Sabong Saga is a reward mechanism designed to provide passive income to early NFT holders.

Through the system, Genesis and Legacy Chickens have the opportunity to ascend as Founders, allowing them to earn 5% of breeding fees generated by their entire bloodline.

The term “Ninuno” means ancestor in Filipino, and the system mirrors this concept by giving “ancestor” chickens a share of the rewards when new chickens (descendants) are bred.

Crafting

Crafting in Sabong Saga allows players to create food items that give chickens temporary stat boosts and increase affection, helping them perform better in the cockpit.

These crafted items are tradable on the Ronin Market, adding utility and value. The feature launched with discounted crafting costs as a limited-time promotion.

Breeding

Breeding is now live in Sabong Saga! You can pair your chickens to pass down elite traits and hatch a new generation of warriors.

Breeding Mechanics:
- After breeding, chickens enter a Breeding State (cooldown) where they can’t battle, be rubbed, or earn rewards.
- The cooldown duration depends on the combined Breed Counts of both chickens.
- A temporary Breeding Boost (until April 7, 00:00 UTC) lets chickens still battle and do daily rubs while in Breeding State.
Eggs:
- Eggs take 7 days to hatch.
- Future items will be introduced to reduce or skip breeding/hatching time and influence genetics.
Mass Breeding:
- Soon, you can breed up to 10 chicken pairs at once for faster operations.
Genetics:
- Each chicken has 7 body parts, each with 1 dominant and 3 recessive genes.
- Offspring inherit traits based on weighted probabilities from both parents.

Creator Program

Sabong Saga rewards creators with 5% of the $COCK tokens spent by anyone using their unique creator code.

Earn from breeding, crafting, and soon from rentals and sales.
Rewards are automatic—you get a cut every time your code is used.
OG community creators are auto-included.
New creators must apply and prove they can bring value.
It’s a competitive program built for serious creators.

How to Play

Sabong Saga is an auto-battler game where players use chickens equipped with ERC-1155 items to compete in best-of-3 matches. Strategy is key, as players must balance stats and adapt to their opponent’s strengths.

However, losing a match comes with a risk—chickens may be permanently burned, helping regulate the in-game population.

The game also features a metagame loop that rewards players for battling, breeding, crafting, and resource management. Depending on their playstyle, players can take on different roles such as battlers, breeders, grinders, or crafters, each contributing to the ecosystem.

Rewards are based on effort, risk, and decisions, promoting a sustainable and engaging in-game economy.

Roadmap

In June, Sabong Saga released their roadmap for 2025. Its plans showcase a seasonal rollout of gameplay features—starting with alpha testing, crafting tweaks, and renting systems. Sabong Sana is set to evolve into competitive modes like Sabong Royale, and deepening mechanics across Seasons 0 to 2 with affection meters, breeding, betting, shiny chickens, and token-based rewards.
