Binance Appoints Crypto and Fintech Veteran Jen Bilango as General Manager for the Philippines
Blockchain infrastructure provider Binance and its local partner BlockShoals Technologies have appointed Jen Bilango as General Manager for Binance in the Philippines, according to an announcement released Tuesday.
The appointment comes as the company prepares for regulatory compliance and an official market entry into the Philippines through Binance PH by BlockShoals.
Who is Jen Bilango
According to the company, Bilango previously served as General Manager at BlockchainSpace, where she supported Web3 communities across Southeast Asia. During her tenure at BlockchainSpace, she led initiatives involving Web3 platform The Sandbox, including a country-specific NFT asset sale.
Bilango also held the role of Country Manager for a locally licensed cryptocurrency exchange Coins.ph in the Philippines, where she participated in the launch of the PHPC stablecoin. Outside the web3 sector, Bilango served as a Board Director for Mabuhay Capital Corporation, working on investment banking transactions across healthcare, financial services, and real estate.
Regulatory and Market Focus
Binance stated that Bilango’s background working with regulatory bodies during her time at Mabuhay Capital will support the company’s Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and compliance processes in the country.
“It’s an amazing opportunity to be part of the world’s leading blockchain brand in working to ensure full compliance and regulatory measures in our entry to the Philippines,” Bilango said in a statement.
SB Seker, Head of APAC at Binance, noted in a press statement that Bilango was selected to help guide the company’s local compliance efforts and platform launch in the Philippines.
