Patented Equilibrium Architecture Takes the Stage at Korea Blockchain Week as Whisper Unveils Veria, Targeting Q1 2027 Mainnet Launch
Paulus J. Lee, Founder & Chairman of Whisper and Veria and co-inventor of the patented Equilibrium blockchain architecture (US Patent No. 12,586,064 B2, held under his legal name, Jung Geun Lee), presented “Satoshi’s Dream? Mission Possible” at Korea Blockchain Week (KBW) on September 30, 2026, unveiling Veria – a new public blockchain ecosystem the team describes as secure, scalable, and decentralized. Veria will serve as the underlying mainnet for Whisper, the group’s consumer super app, with mainnet launch targeted for Q1 2027.
The talk was delivered on KBW’s BitGo Stage to an audience of several hundred attendees. Earlier on the same stage, there were many different sessions, including a fireside chat, panels, and keynote speeches.
One highlight was Byoungdeok Min, a member of South Korea’s National Assembly, who delivered a keynote on “Korea’s Digital Asset Policy Moment.” Another was a Fireside Chat with SungGuan Yun, the Director General of the Office of Digital Currency at the Bank of Korea, discussing “Digital Currency and the Future Monetary System: Korea’s Next Architecture.”
Veria is built around the same architecture covered by Lee’s patent: a non-competitive consensus model paired with a micro-chain design that lets different kinds of activity (payments, messaging, gaming, exchange) run on separate chains rather than compete for space on one. The team has previously piloted the underlying technology in real-time, on-chain payments at the Jeju Food & Wine Festival and tested consensus participation on low-power hardware, including a Raspberry Pi.
Commenting on the presentation, Lee said:
“Presenting a commercially viable blockchain use case at Korea Blockchain Week was genuinely exciting for us. Satoshi’s dream doesn’t have to stay a dream. We hope to build an all-new Web3 ecosystem together, one that’s widely accepted by the public, not just by the industry.”
On the current market backdrop, he added:
